Harlem Opera Theater Salute to Henry (Harry) T. Burleigh

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Ewing NJ, proudly presents, for the first time in the Greater Mercer County/Philadelphia area, The Harlem Opera Theater Salute to Henry (Harry) T. Burleigh, Father of the Spiritual Arrangement.

Henry (Harry) T. Burleigh, classical composer, arranger and professional singer is honored with a Feast Day of September 11th on the Episcopal Church Calendar for his contributions to worship music. H. T. Burleigh is responsible for the arrangement of In Christ There Is No East or West as well as Negro spirituals including, Deep River and Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child.

Under the leadership of Philadelphia native, Artistic Director, Dr. Gregory Hopkins, internationally acclaimed tenor, pianist, organist and conductor, Harlem Opera Theater performances include all types of musical offerings: opera, classical music, concerts, recitals, and in-school performances.
