Corinne Mammana, Norah Jones Songbook
February 9 @ 2:00 pm
Norah Jones, Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, has enamoured audiences for nearly two decades. Preservation New Jersey and the New Jersey Jazz Society invite you to come celebrate her greatest hits, featuring vocalist, Corinne Mammana and Sean Gough on piano.
You will enjoy renditions of songs from Jones’ debut 2002 solo album, Come Away With Me, to her latest 2016 release, Day Breaks.
With a sophisticated and soothing style, Corinne Mammana is an American jazz singer, songwriter, arranger, recording artist and bandleader. She is praised by JazzTimes for her “superb technique.” Her debut 2016 EP ‘Under an August Moon’ celebrates the Great American Songbook via a four-song collection of jazz standards from the 40s and 50s, as well as contemporary songs. Mammana’s much anticipated full-length album “Yes, No, Next” will be released in Spring 2020.
A native of the northeastern United States, Sean Gough has deep musical roots, attending concerts since age 2 and playing piano since age 8, drawing widely from American popular music and European classical music. Since age 18, Sean has worked as a professional musician. In 2007, he had the fortune of meeting bassist Gene Perla, starting in an apprenticeship model that had mostly gone away after the 1990s. They since have played in many groups that have appeared across the United States and in Europe. Sean also freelances with other veteran instrumentalists, as well as accompanying singers, including operatic tenor Ronald Naldi (his grandfather), with whom he has played semi-annual recitals of art songs and arias from the 17th-20th centuries.
