CANCELLED – Andrew Alling Beyond A Clique

July 18, 2019 @ 8:00 pm

Event Cancelled –  Due to predicted storms, and for safety of traveling performers and our audience (there are still many branches and wires down in the area from Wednesday night’s storms), Thursday night’s performance by ANDREW ALLING at the 1867 Sanctuary is CANCELLED.

We are working on rescheduling to a later date. We look forward to hosting him!

Thanks to all for your understanding.

Preservation New Jersey is pleased to welcome Andrew Alling in his first appearance at the 1867 Sanctuary.

Andrew Alling is an original Indy Folk Rocking, Singer Songwriter, with Jam Band roots. Guitar, Bass Pedals and Harmonicas, all at once! No looping machine!

Andrew Alling
Andrew Alling

Andrew Alling is a singer-songwriter who resides in Ithaca, N.Y. Following the Grateful Dead around in the late ’80s and ’90s, he supported himself as a street musician, visiting 46 states. He played keyboards with jam bands while living in Syracuse, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, California and Nashville. He now performs exclusively on acoustic guitar, organ bass pedals and the harmonica. He does this all simultaneously.

Andrew is a one-man three-piece singer-songwriter jam band. Strongly influenced by the folk revival of the late ’60s and the 70s songwriting movement, he believes in keeping his sound clean without using effects pedals and live looping recording devices.

He has written more than 100 songs and self-produced more than six CDs. Balanced with his current yoga practice, his music speaks of politics, love, hardship, truth, adversity and hope. You can buy his music, but catch one of his live shows.

He’s a consummate professional performer, can keep a crowd entertained for hours, and works great for a small side stage or other space that might be a little tight to put a full band.

Andrew Alling is a fascinating performer to see- sounding familiar and effortless, all while playing three instruments at once! His music is intriguing and engaging: blending upbeat bass-driven grooves with acoustic soul and raw lyrics, and his stage presence, stories, and easy-going personality makes each audience member feel like a long-time fan.

Alling’s sound on the CD (Unladen) recalls 1970s singer-songwriters such as Harry Chapin, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.
