Songs I’ll Never Sing, Roles I’ll Never Play – A Miscast Cabaret

September 22 @ 8:00 pm

2 Sopranos and a Piano

Preservation New Jersey invites you to join us for a fun-filled evening of classical, operatic, and Broadway solos and duets with Rachel Cetel, soprano, Cecelia Tepping, soprano, and Sandra Pucciatti, piano for a unique program in the beautiful acoustics of the 1867 Sanctuary.

Sopranos Rachel Cetel and Cecelia Tepping became friends while working for an opera company and soon came to realize how nicely their voices blended together. Often cast together in operas, they have shared the stage many times over the last nine years. It’s an obvious choice when asked to present a program to collaborate with talented colleagues. After all, two sopranos are better than one!

Two Sopranos and a Piano present a Songs I’ll Never Sing/ Roles I’ll Never Play, a miscast cabaret. There is a wealth of repertoire that Cecelia and Rachel love to sing, but they could never feasibly be cast in the corresponding roles due to race, gender, or age. This collection of “forbidden” repertoire became the inspiration for their program, after they noticed the best songs from most musicals are sung by men.
