Simply Timeless: Great American Songbook Sampler
March 1 @ 8:00 pm
Preservation New Jersey welcomes pianist, vocalist, and radio host Jay Daniels in his solo debut at the 1867 Sanctuary for an evening of Simply Timeless™ music. You’ll embark upon a journey of musical discovery with selections from the Great American Songbook by Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Irving Berlin, and others. Along with these memorable works, Jay will also share some of the stories behind these songs. It’s an unforgettable evening of timeless classics from the Great American Songbook with Jay Daniels at the 1867 Sanctuary.
What makes certain songs memorable? What allows them to stand the test of time? For pianist, vocalist, and radio host Jay Daniels, the answer is simple. These songs possess a rich combination of melody and lyrics, unsurpassed by many modern compositions. These are the songs you love, popularized by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Patsy Cline, and others. At each performance, Jay not only brings a fresh interpretation of these classics, but he makes a lasting impression with his audience. For Jay, it’s not merely an opportunity to perform. For Jay, it’s an opportunity to share his gift of music.
