The Witherbees Duo: Mike Lorenz and Jacqui Armbruster
July 20 @ 8:00 pm
Preservation New Jersey and the New Jersey Jazz Society welcome the Witherbees Duo featuring Mike Lorenz and Jacqui Armbruster to the 1867 Sanctuary.
Mike Lorenz, a guitarist/composer/educator, hails from Bethlehem, PA where he is a member of the music faculty at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. For over a decade, Mike has kept a busy schedule as a freelancing performer, leading his trio/quartet in performances up-and-down the Northeast Corridor. He is the resident band at Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, PA, one of the top 50 breweries in the world. Having released 7 albums, his latest album, Mike Lorenz & the Witherbees, is set to be released on August 9th, 2019 and features Jacqui Armbruster on vocals & viola plus longtime collaborators Justin Sekelewski on bass and Zach Martin on drums.
Jacqui Armbruster is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Allentown, PA. She attends Oberlin Conservatory for classical viola performance, though her passion for music spans many genres including jazz, folk, and rock. Two of her original compositions, “home” and “lilac” will be featured on Mike Lorenz and the Witherbees’ self-titled album, available August 9th.
Jazz at the 1867 Sanctuary and throughout the Trenton/Princeton area is featured on trenton.jazznearyou.com. Download their app for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire!
