La Fiocco: “Cantate and Canzonette” (CANCELLED)
June 6 @ 7:30 pm
Due to State and local requirements as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, La Fiocco has cancelled its June concert. We look forward to hosting their future concerts!
Preservation New Jersey welcomes La Fiocco in their program, Cantate and Canzonette, the finale of their three concert 2019-2020 season at the 1867 Sanctuary (lafiocco.org).
Enjoy virtuosic vocal music with returning favorite, celebrated soprano Laura Heimes, with La Fiocco’s period string players in a program of sacred & secular arias of the early 18th century.
Artistic director Lewis R. Baratz is currently on the faculty of Lafayette College, where he conducts the Chamber Orchestra and teaches harpsichord and recorder. Baratz remarks: “This year’s season will be focused on the music of the 17th century, a fascinating and complex historical period when the foundations of modern society were emerging. The music is at times extravagant and virtuosic, at other times tuneful, intimate, or pious. We look forward to presenting this exciting repertory to our audience.”
La Fiocco performs instrumental and vocal music of the late Renaissance, Baroque and early Classical eras. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, La Fiocco presents an annual series of three concerts each in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. La Fiocco also performs at other venues in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Boston, MA and Providence, RI.
Additional program information and ticket purchasing link to be announced.
