John Hart: Portrait of a Patriot

July 8 @ 7:30 pm

The Ewing Township  Historic Preservation Society is proud to present the second showing of John Hart: Portrait of a Patriot at the 1867 Sanctuary on Scotch Road in Ewing.

This locally produced full-length documentary sheds light on the accomplishments of this long-neglected, obscure patriot from Hopewell who is best known as one of five Signers from New Jersey of the Declaration of Independence as well as New Jersey’s first Speaker of the General Assembly.

Running time is approximately 90 minutes. It includes a central off-screen narration, on-camera interviews with two local historians, video of staged and public re-enactments, archival images, and historic landmarks. The video also features an original soundtrack written and recorded exclusively for the project by well-known Trenton area musician Frank J. Pinto.

Tickets may be purchased at the Benjamin Temple House on Federal City Road in Ewing beginning 6 pm the night of the screening.  Details are available at www.ethps.org.
