Preservation New Jersey is pleased to present Christine D. Anderson in a concert of solo handbells, on her way to the handbell National Seminar in Rochester, NY. She will be accompanied on the piano for some pieces by Marianne Lauffer. The concert will feature music of the seasons through winter, Valentine's Day, Holy Week/Easter, summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. This virtuoso performance will sound even more spectacular in the beautiful setting and acoustics of the historic landmark 1867 Sanctuary at Ewing!


The solo handbell artistry of Christine D. Anderson is world-renowned. With finesse, grace and dexterity, Christine's solo handbell artistry has thrilled audiences in 25 countries and 50 states, and her fans around the world will tell you that you'll never be the same after hearing and seeing Christine play.

She is an outstanding clinician and in constant demand for handbell workshops and festivals, incorporating a teaching style that makes learning fun and techniques unforgettable. With many years of conducting experience and performing solo concerts, she easily communicates the skills needed for musical ringing. Christine’s expertise ranges from beginning choirs through advanced, solo, and ensemble ringing, including handbell maintenance and refurbishing.

After earning her music degree from Florida Atlantic University, she embarked on a career encompassing all aspects of the art of handbell ringing. She is a sales representative for Malmark handbells, and serves as handbell editor for LifeWay Church Resources. Christine's more than 110 published arrangements have set the standard for excellence in solo ringing, and her CDs and DVDs showcase her incredible grace and musicality. She is Artist in Residence at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA, and annually receives the ASCAP award for performances in the Concert Division.

Marianne Lauffer, pianist, earned a BM and MM in piano performance at Indiana University, studying with Karen Shaw. A graduate of the Professional Studies Program at The Juilliard School, further studies were with Irwin Freundlich, Jacob Lateiner and German Diez. She has coached solo and chamber music literature with Menahem Pressler, George Bolet, Carl Ulrich Schnabel and Rafael De Silva, and collaborated with flutists Gerald Carey and Carol Wincenc. Ms. Lauffer was the featured pianist with the American Repertory Ballet Company at McCarter Theater in Princeton, the State Theater and George Street Theaters in New Brunswick, and in New York City in a premier performance of Pas de dux to the music of John Field.

Ms. Lauffer is the assistant director of faculty and extensions and director of the summer music camp program at Westminster Conservatory. She served as state president of NJMTA from 2000 to 2002 and received the MTNA/NJMTA Fellow Award in 2012. Marianne frequently adjudicates for festivals and competitions including NJMTA, MEA, PTF, SMEA, Golden Key Club, Music Fest, and Teen Arts Festival. She currently serves as the pianist/accompanist for Ewing Presbyterian Church. Marianne resides in Ewing Township with her husband Peter where they maintain busy private piano studios.

Tickets are $20 for General Admission, $15 for Friends of the Sanctuary, and only $5 for school and college students with ID. Tickets may be purchased online below by selecting your ticket option and clicking on the "Buy Now" link to use credit or debit card or your PayPal account. If ordering two or three ticket types, each type must be purchased in a separate order. You will receive an email confirmation of each purchase. Online tickets will be held at the box office; please print and bring your receipt in case it is needed to confirm your purchase.

GROUP RATES are now available! Choose the Group ticket option and each ticket will have a $5 discount from the General Admission price (same as the Friends of the 1867 Sanctuary ticket price)! Group rate tickets must be purchased in quantities of 10 or more within a single purchase. Group rates apply only to advance online sales and cannot be purchased at the box office prior to the concert. Groups must present themselves at the box office at the same time. For group orders of fewer than 10 people, the full General Admission rate (less the amount prepaid) may be required at the box office at the time of admission. Group rates do not apply to Student prices.
