Echoes of Past and Present -
A Flute and Guitar Journey from Renaissance
to Rock & Roll
Friday, May 20, 2016, 8:00 pm
at the 1867 Sanctuary at Ewing
Preservation New Jersey is pleased to present a fabulous evening of Flute & Guitar music, From Renaissance to Rock & Roll in the excellent acoustics of the 1867 Sanctuary.
Take a journey through 500 years of music, from Renaissance to Rock N' Roll! From the recorder and lute to the modern flute and electric guitar, we explore the beauty, characteristics, and idiosyncrasies of various stylistic periods.
Experience the sounds of early music and newly accepted intervals, Bach's counterpoint and the eccentric miniatures of Satie to the rhythms and exotic harmonies of Jazz by Brubeck, the melodic songwriting of the Beatles, and powerful rock music. We observe this musical history not only in chronological form, but by also comparing styles and combining genres.
Listen for themes and musical bridges from early and classical music in works by Bach, Mozart, Faure, Jobim, Brubeck, Elvis, Led Zepplin, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Jethro Tull and more!
Jaclyn Duncan, Boston University graduate (2000), brings years of diverse musical experience to every performance. Trained classically on the piano, Jaclyn has performed as an accompanist at many prestigious schools and concert venues including The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory. In addition to collaborative piano, Jaclyn has performed and recorded extensively on flute throughout the USA and Japan, playing selections from genres as diverse as funk, hip hop, jazz, reggae, edm, classical, folk, pop, tribal, techno and drum & bass. Recordings include a Sony Japan release with correlating MTV Japan video.
Fueled by her love for small ensemble music, In 2010, Jaclyn established Jaclyn Duncan Music, a collective of highly skilled professional musicians providing a diverse repertoire of sounds for concerts, studio recordings, wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, holiday parties, corporate events and more. From jazz to classical to hip hop to heavy metal, Jaclyn and her team are available to create the perfect ambiance for your event!
As a lover of travel, Jaclyn does not let distance keep her from making music, but sees it, rather, as an opportunity to explore a new local culture. With teams currently located in New Jersey, Philadelphia, NYC, Los Angeles & Central Florida, Jaclyn and her fellow musicians welcome musical inquiries from near and far alike.

He has also contributed music for independent films and National Geographic documentaries dealing with animal rights, environmental, and humanitarian issues. In addition to his solo releases, Leon has worked and appeared on recordings alongside members of Chuck Berry, Metropolitan Opera, Journey, Dio, and Whitesnake. He performs regularly throughout the Tri-State area and maintains a busy schedule of guitar students. For music links, show dates, and more information, please visit: www.AdventuresofLeonid.com
