Rekindle the Wonder
with Gordon Thomas Ward
Friday, September 9, 2016, 7:00 pm
at the 1867 Sanctuary at Ewing
Preservation New Jersey is pleased to present singer-songwriter and WDVR-FM ("These Days") radio personality Gordon Thomas Ward for an evening of folk music and storytelling in the wonderful acoustics of the 1867 Sanctuary at Ewing!
Getting music fans to agree on anything is almost impossible. That’s why reactions to singer-songwriter Gordon Thomas Ward are so significant. Audience members concur that his musical portraits of people, places, and events come alive and touch their hearts as if he’s performing just for them.
Come to a show. Travel mystical and historical roads and twist through lush sonic landscapes along the way. Seascapes, ghosts, history, rivers, coffee shop waitresses, and railroad engineers - at the end of the night, you’ll leave inspired! As one listener remarked, "I saw you perform a few years ago, fell in love with your music, and have loved it ever since. I could listen to you over and over again!"
The Shared Dream to hold on to our past while embracing the future is that place of resonance and transcendence where the music, voices, stories, several instruments, and the community ALL come together and unite. There IS a “Shared Dream,” and Gordon is courting it beautifully and fiercely.
Gordon has worked with many notable musicians such as Eric Troyer (Electric Light Orchestra), Carolann Solebello (Red Molly), Nalani and Sarina, William Hall (Frostwater), David Rimelis, and Dave Shapiro, The Boxcar Lilies and the trio Huxtable, Christensen, and Hood.
on’t miss this opportunity to hear Gordon in the beautiful setting of the 1867 Sanctuary. In the words of Tom Martin of Rutherfurd Hall, He has one of the best voices I've heard in a long time and the instrumentation to go with it! His ability as a raconteur and minstrel were both provocative and soothing. Bravo! He totally amazed me!
